2026 GMA Annual Conference in Dresden/Germany
Information is available: gma2026.de
Dear colleagues, dear students,
We cordially invite you to the 2026 Annual Conference of the DACH Association for Medical Education, which will take place from September 17 to 19 in Dresden.
Under the motto “Next Generation Teaching – Challenges and Opportunities in High-Quality Education”, we look ahead together to a future of medical education, training, and continuing education characterized by change, diversity, and innovation.
Dresden is the ideal location for this. Why? As a city with a rich history, Baroque architecture, and a vibrant cultural landscape—but above all as a hub of dynamic research, digitalization, and technological development—we embody the tension between tradition and transformation.
Yet “Next Generation Teaching” is more than just a technological buzzword to us. It means rethinking teaching—as a malleable, open space for interaction, creativity, and social responsibility.
- How do we impart knowledge in a world where facts are available at any time, but guidance and judgment are becoming increasingly important?
- How do we design learning environments that encourage active thinking and participation—across disciplines, generations, and cultures?
- How are learning spaces, didactic concepts, and examination formats changing under the influence of digital technologies?
Dresden offers not only the right infrastructure for this, but also the right spirit: In the heart of “Silicon Saxony”, Europe’s largest microelectronics cluster, medicine intersects with engineering, the humanities, and the arts. Medical education here becomes interdisciplinary, international, and innovative.
A special highlight of GMA 2026 will be our “FRINGE” format on the final day—a creative space beyond traditional conference structures:
Featuring theater, performance, the unexpected, and the courage to embrace the new. Because high-quality teaching thrives not only on content—but also on emotion, expression, and connection.
We look forward to three days full of discussion, exchange, inspiration, and a future brought to life in Dresden.
Join us on this journey where the Baroque meets the modern—and actively help shape the next generation of teaching!
A warm welcome to GMA 2026—see you in Dresden!
